Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operations for site supervision of subcontractors and ensure projects are completed successfully, on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality and safety standards for a 30KSF strip center ground-up project.
- Site Management: Manage and coordinate all construction activities on-site, ensuring work progresses according to the project plan, specifications, and quality standards.
- Schedule Management: Maintain and update the construction schedule and 3-week look-ahead.
- Quality Control: Monitor and enforce the quality of work to ensure construction meets specified standards and adheres to project plans and drawings.
- Safety Oversight: Enforce safety procedures, conduct safety meetings, and address safety concerns promptly to maintain a safe work environment.
- Communication: Serve as the central point of communication between the project team, subcontractors, and other stakeholders, keeping everyone informed about project progress, changes, and issues.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of project progress, including daily reports, RFIs, submittals, and other documentation.
- Budget Management: Work closely with project managers to track expenses and ensure the project stays within financial constraints.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the construction project complies with local building codes and regulations, including obtaining necessary permits and approvals.
Qualifications
- Education: Degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field preferred. Vocational or technical training in construction is also acceptable.
- Experience: At least 5 years of experience in the construction industry, with experience as a construction foreman or in a similar supervisory role beneficial.
- Certifications: OSHA certifications, first aid/CPR certifications, and a Super’s License are advantageous.
- Knowledge of Building Codes and Regulations: Understanding of local and national building codes and regulations to ensure compliance during construction.
- Budget and Cost Management: Ability to properly source and vet labor and qualified subcontractors.
- Safety Awareness: Strong commitment to safety, including knowledge of safety protocols and the ability to enforce them on-site.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in reading blueprints, using Dropbox, scheduling software, Total Station, and other relevant tools. Familiarity with AutoCAD or other design software is a plus.
- Valid Driver’s License: Required, as travel between construction sites may be necessary.
