Principal Responsibilities
- Perform as the primary point of contact between Project Managers, Contractor Management/Field Leadership, Operations, Maintenance, EHS, Procurement, Accounting, Human Resources, Legal, Security and the Warehouse for decision making processes during all phases of construction.
- Ensure that all communication within your assigned construction area is accurate, timely, and consistent.
- Act as the primary liaison between the field and project leadership to ensure alignment, clarity, and accountability.
- Manage and Lead scheduling interface processes with CF and Contract Project Management/Field Leadership to ensure project priorities are always optimized for efficient and effective execution.
- Identify skilled personnel and resources that directly influence construction activities and deliver value across the entire project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with Document/Project Controls and Safety to maintain detailed project records, including daily logs, change orders, incident reports, and close-out documentation.
- Utilize provided project management software and digital collaboration tools to streamline workflows and enhance communication.
- Collaborate with Engineers and assist in managing the change/revision and RFI processes throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage the processes of tracking expenditures, approving invoices, and implementing cost-control strategies to keep project financially on target.
- Fully comprehend all project contractual agreements so that the challenge process or general compliance with the terms can be effectively carried out.
- Work with Procurement to evaluate current and propose new service providing contractors to enhance a continuous value add strategy throughout the project lifecycle.
EHS and Security
- Work with project EHS team members to ensure safety policies, procedures, and processes are properly integrated into construction execution and adhered to throughout the lifecycle of the project.
- Champion the projects safety culture by embedding safety and environmental stewardship into every stage of the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with Safety leaders during onboarding and ongoing training for all site personnel, subcontractors, and visitors, ensuring they understand and follow safety protocols.
- Personally execute Regular Site Inspections. Lead and be accountable for scheduled and impromptu safety audits to identify hazards, verify compliance, and implement corrective actions promptly.
- Collaborate with Safety Leadership in incident reporting, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive action plans to prevent recurrence.
- Assume direct accountability for executing and maintaining recurrence prevention plans.
- Monitor, enforce, and execute environmental controls, including SWPP, dust suppression, erosion control, waste management, and spill prevention measures.
- Analyze safety performance data, share lessons learned, and implement innovative solutions to improve safety outcomes.
Planning and Execution
- Lead and direct the execution plan challenge process that ensures all work required for execution will accomplish the projects on time, on budget, and successful start-up objectives.
- Facilitate formal interactions to ensure project deliverables are on track for timely integration into the projects planning and scheduling parameters.
- Participate in design reviews to ensure constructability and maintainability is incorporated.
- Develop framework and lead frequent risk reviews for all critical work being performed during the project and provide guidance as well as leadership during risk mitigation planning/execution.
- Perform frequent formal review of the project schedule and its critical paths for accuracy and attainability. Adjust execution priorities based on intended project outcomes.
- Anticipate potential challenges, from weather disruptions to supply chain delays, and implement proactive solutions to keep projects on track.
- Collaborate with contractors to manage resources at a level that encourages efficiency and effectiveness.
- Work with procurement, material controls and logistics to ensure deliveries are properly timed and coordinated in a manner that best supports the construction areas’ timely completion.
- Collaborate with material laydown teams to ensure the yard is managed efficiently and within the programs processes.
- Work closely with the project controls team in charge of scheduling and quantity surveying to promote accurate project progress communication for all stakeholders.
Problem-Solving
- Address unforeseen issues (e.g., design conflicts, material shortages) with practical, timely solutions.
- Ensure package turnover process is incorporated in every work plan and finalizes inspections, punch lists, and documentation to ensure a smooth transition to the commissioning and start-up team.
Quality Assurance
- Manage the contractor’s strict adherence to Quality Department’s processes of material surveillance, methods of construction, and potential methods of repair during construction execution.
- Collaborate with site QA professionals to ensure execution efforts have a specific quality assurance inspection plan associated with the level of risk.
- Collaborate with Quality Departments to ensure correct Quality Assurance and Quality Control hold points are integrated into work steps with the correct execution resources assigned.
- Hold Contractors accountable to the strict adherence to hold and witness points.
- Review execution plans with Quality Departments as they pertain to contractor quality and package turnover that ensure assets are installed in a way that provides the desired performance in a safe, environmentally protected and reliable fashion.
- Assist the Blue Point Quality Department as required in facilitating inspection needs during offsite fabrication.
