About the role

The Construction Superintendent I supports all field operations to ensure that the jobsite is clean, orderly, and maintained in a safe condition. The primary objective is to maintain the project in a professional and orderly manner while managing daily labor for miscellaneous carpentry and housekeeping items. Superintendents also implement and enforce safety and quality control policies among CPG employees and subcontractors.

Must be a US Citizen. Travel: 75% if not local, 3-4 weeks on site and one week remote, or willingness to relocate for the duration of the project.

Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for project housekeeping.
  • Manage the daily labor team and prioritize work schedules of daily activities and projects.
  • Communicate with the project team daily regarding areas of activity for improvement or maintenance.
  • Ensure all equipment movement, material handling, and unloading of material is done utilizing all safety measures.
  • Coordinate with vendors supporting the project for timely maintenance/upkeep, such as trash vendor.
  • Maintain daily onsite presence providing continual field supervision to monitor activities and field coordination.
  • Ensure the jobsite is always kept in a clean and organized manner.
  • Install protection material around the jobsite as directed by Superintendents.
  • Ensure walk paths are well maintained, clear from debris, and support the project.
  • Open the jobsite at the beginning of the day and secure it at the end of the day.
  • Supervise all subcontractors, consultants, and vendors daily to ensure adequate manpower and compliant work.
  • Monitor project security personnel.
  • Perform other assigned tasks as requested.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of verifiable experience with thorough knowledge of trades.
  • Experience in mission-critical construction is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project & Outlook) preferred.
  • No certificates or licenses required.

Physical Demands

  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Frequent use of hands to fingers, and ability to reach with hands and arms.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, ability to adjust focus, and ability to see color.
  • Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate office equipment.
  • Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate written or online documentation.
  • Involves frequent contact with staff, sitting, standing, and walking.
