Construction Superintendent

About the role

The Onsite Construction Superintendent will manage and perform daily construction tasks in healthcare environments, ensuring projects adhere to Quality Control Plans and Safety Plans. This role may require off-hours work to maintain facility operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform remedial tasks using basic computer software.
• Direct subcontractors and support staff to execute work according to contract documents and specifications.
• Aid in project design plan reviews and assist in developing the overall CPM schedule.
• Create and maintain project schedules and logistics plans.
• Manage and update project submittal logs and quality control reports.
• Chair and document progress meetings with clients and provide written minutes.
• Maintain client relations through various forms of communication.
• Conduct pre-construction meetings with subcontractors.
• Oversee field operations to ensure adherence to standards of care.
• Follow up on Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, as-built documents, and changes.
• Ensure compliance with Valiant's Quality Control and Safety Management Programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Five (5) years of relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with US Corps of Engineers, government contracting, and general construction.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
• OSHA 30 HR Construction Safety & Health certification.
• CPR/First Aid/AED certification.
• ASHE Healthcare Construction Certificate (preferred).

Physical, Environmental, and Sensory Requirements

• Intermittent sitting, standing, and walking.
• Sometimes bending, reaching, and lifting up to 10 pounds.
• Moderate exposure to elements such as heat, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, and moving machinery.
• Sufficient vision to identify safety signs and warnings.
