Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all on-site construction activities for fuel station projects, including UST/AST installations, retrofits, upgrades, and decommissioning
- Serve as the primary on-site authority responsible for safety, quality, schedule, and coordination
- Supervise foremen, technicians, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure work is executed according to plans and specifications
- Interpret and enforce construction drawings, site plans, permits, and environmental requirements
- Cook up and coordinate closely with Project Managers, General Contractors, inspectors, and AHJs to meet project milestones
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations including EPA, OSHA, and fire code requirements
- Oversee excavation, tank setting, piping, backfill, concrete, and site restoration activities
- Maintain required documentation including daily reports, inspections, testing records, and as-built information
- Enforce company safety programs, conduct daily safety meetings, and ensure proper PPE and site controls
- Proactively identify risks, conflicts, or delays and implement corrective actions
- Manage job site logistics including equipment, materials, and manpower planning
- Support commissioning, testing, and final inspections through project closeout
Required Licenses & Certifications
- ICC U-1 Certification – Installation / Retrofit of Underground Storage Tanks
- ICC U-2 Certification – Decommissioning / Closure of Underground Storage Tanks
What You Bring to the Table
- 5+ years of experience in petroleum construction with a focus on fuel stations and UST/AST systems
- Proven experience leading crews and managing multiple job sites or complex projects
- Strong knowledge of UST/AST installation, retrofit, removal, and closure processes
- Deep understanding of safety-sensitive environments and hazardous location work
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Experience working directly with inspectors, environmental consultants, and regulatory agencies
- High level of organization, accountability, and attention to detail
- Ability to travel and work flexible hours as project schedules require
Preferred (but Not Required)
- OSHA 30 HAZWOPER Confined Space Entry certification
- Experience with multi-site or program-based petroleum construction projects
