Brief Description
MCL Construction is expanding into central Nebraska and seeks a Construction Superintendent to lead projects safely, efficiently, and with high quality. The role involves managing projects ranging from $5M to $30M+, ensuring compliance with schedules, budgets, and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead all on-site operations for commercial projects, ensuring safety, quality, and adherence to timelines and budgets.
- Own the master schedule and manpower planning; maintain a clear six-week look-ahead.
- Direct resource allocation, equipment use, and field cost control.
- Manage field documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, QC records, and closeout.
- Lead people and partners by serving as the primary on-site point of contact for owners, architects, engineers, and subs.
- Coordinate preconstruction meetings and weekly coordination sessions, focusing on safety, schedule, and quality.
- Hold subcontractors accountable to performance and quality standards, resolving conflicts promptly.
- Ensure a visible, no-compromise safety presence on-site through toolbox talks, safety meetings, and inspections.
- Enforce MCL’s quality standards to ensure the finished product meets high standards.
Requirements
- 7+ years of progressive construction experience, with 3+ years as a superintendent.
- Experience delivering commercial projects in the $5M–$30M range.
- Proficiency in scheduling systems (Procore, P6, or similar) and look-ahead planning.
- Knowledge of contract documents, submittals, RFIs, and change order management.
- OSHA 30 certification required; First Aid/CPR a plus.
- Strong communication skills, both direct and clear.
- Able to manage a clean, organized, professional job site without supervision.
- Able to travel or take extended project assignments as needed.
