Responsibilities
- Attend all required pre-job meetings
- Review project scope with Project Manager and Area Manager before work begins
- Receive and review union contracts prior to union pre-jobs
- Set up the job site before project start
- Review and understand cost codes prior to starting work
- Maintain strong working relationships with FDOT, inspectors, subcontractors, and owners
- Ensure all work meets project specifications
- Coordinate subcontractor activities and manage local union relationships
- Supervise all on-site employees for assigned projects
- Ensure compliance with EEO requirements and document good faith efforts
- Complete and manage all required documentation, including timesheets (with photos), safe cards, toolbox talks, onboarding, daily diaries, delivery tickets (with cost codes), and fuel receipts
- Submit daily timesheets and diary notes from foremen under supervision
- Ensure completed quantities are entered daily and accurately
- Create a two-week look-ahead schedule including activities, equipment, personnel, materials, and QC testing needs
- Verify utility locates before excavation
- Maintain project tools and equipment and ensure completion of equipment checklists
- Ensure required materials and equipment are on site as needed and maximize equipment utilization
- Ensure all work (including subcontractors) complies with OSHA standards and company policies
- Conduct weekly toolbox talks and ensure sign-in sheets are submitted
- Ensure daily completion and submission of safe cards
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum GED or High School Diploma
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Superintendent with experience supporting structural components of roadways, highways or bridges
- Railroad/CSX experience is a plus
Pay
Starting at $125,000.00 + depending on experience
