Construction Superintendent

About the role

Laland Baptiste, LLC is seeking on-site Construction Superintendents for projects in the Buffalo, NY region. The ideal candidate should have project experience in Higher-Education, Healthcare, or Buildings Rehabilitation.

Responsibilities

• Manage large-scale building/rehabilitation projects with a cost of $10 million or greater.
• Develop and communicate a project work plan, monitor manpower and performance against that plan.
• Ensure coordination between various project trades by comparing design drawings.
• Manage schedule and budget on multi-disciplinary renovation projects, particularly those in higher education settings.
• Show working knowledge of architectural design, MEP systems, and construction industry practices.
• Interpret construction documents and understand applicable construction codes.
• Make rapid and effective decisions under pressure.
• Use MS Office and/or construction software proficiently.
• Hold OSHA 30 certification.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, specialty consultants, contractors, and clients.
• Work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Solve problems effectively.
• Understand and adhere to safety protocols and regulations.

Requirements

• A minimum of 6 years of experience as a Construction Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent on large-scale projects.
• A minimum of 4 years’ experience as an Assistant Superintendent or Inspector on large-scale, multi-contract or single prime building projects.
• An associate’s degree in Construction Management or a related field, with a bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience working on higher education projects, including schedule and budget management.
• Knowledge of architectural design, MEP systems, and construction industry practices.
• The ability to interpret construction documents and understand applicable construction codes.
• The ability to make decisions rapidly and under pressure.
• Strong proficiency with MS Office and/or other construction software.
• OSHA 30 certification.
• The ability to lead, collaborate, and interact effectively with a range of project participants.
• A valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Construction Management or related field or a satisfactory equivalent of the combined education and experience.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Working knowledge of architectural design, MEP systems, and construction industry practices.
• Ability to interpret construction documents and understand applicable construction codes.
• The ability to make decisions rapidly and under pressure.
• Strong proficiency with MS Office and/or other construction software.
• OSHA 30 certification.
• The ability to lead, collaborate, and interact effectively with a range of project participants.
• The ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• In-depth understanding of safety protocols and regulations.
• A valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
