Construction Superintendent Working LocationStonefort, IL (must be local, 50 miles or less) Contract Type12 months (rolling) Job SummaryThe Construction Superintendent is an experienced people manager with civil, electrical, and structural expertise, preferably in the solar industry. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day operations at the construction site(s), coordinating subcontractors, leading safety practices, and ensuring quality assurance throughout the project duration. Effective communication and time management are essential for balancing workflow and maintaining progress on project milestones. Key ResponsibilitiesCoordinate daily activities of sub-contractorsHost daily POD meetings with contractorsEnforce OSHA and industry best safety practices on siteRecord weekly toolbox talks and daily job hazard analysisMaintain daily logs, capture photos, handle RFIs, observations, punch lists, weekly meeting minutes, three-week look aheads, deliveries, quantities, and manpower tracking using construction management toolsReceive deliveries and maintain records of all bills of ladingConduct mock-up, daily, and milestone inspectionsHost weekly progress meetings with all stakeholders and distribute meeting minutesPerform weekly and rain event SWPPP inspectionsWork closely with internal and external teams to ensure project quality standards are metCollaborate with senior superintendents and project management to maintain schedules and uphold qualityLead by example and enforce company and regulatory safety policies; address non-compliance among all employees, contractors, and vendorsShare experience and best practices for continuous project improvementAssist with design support in Geo-Tech and Push/Pull TestingSupport pre-construction activities such as site surveys and utility walksInteract effectively with contractors, consultants, and project managers Supervisory ResponsibilityYes - Direct supervisory role over teams Position TypeFull Time RequirementsEducation: High School Diploma requiredExperience: Four years of construction supervisory experience with a successful track record in project supervisionExceptional oral and written communication skillsProficiency with MS Word, Excel, Project, and various construction management toolsFamiliarity with OSHA safety standards; OSHA 10 and/or 30 CertificationFirst Aid CPR CertificationSWPPP CertificationExperience with construction management software is a plusUnderstanding of medium voltage systems and equipment is a plusStrong eye for detail and clear communication skillsWillingness to travelValid and current Driver's License Work EnvironmentField-based role with extensive walkingPhysical demands include lifting up to 50 lbsDaily travel required with occasional overnights Preferred Education4-year college degree in a relevant discipline preferred Preferred ExperiencePrior management/construction experience (5 years)Experience in solar industry construction is a bonus Bonus / Nice to HavesWillingness to relocateNFPA 70EOSHA 30 CertificationProfessional licenses in trade (e.g., CSL, NABCEP PV, etc.) CompetenciesStrong time management skillsHighly organizedStrong communication and leadership abilitiesSelf-motivatedAbility to learn and adapt quickly
