Construction Superintendent Responsibilities
- Play a "hands-on" role in coordination and supervision of assigned construction projects.
- Responsible for conducting and monitoring all subcontract work to ensure it is performed safely and in accordance with the plans, specifications, schedule and budget.
- Responsible for daily coordination and oversight of subcontractors and job-site logistics.
- Monitor the on-site performance of subcontractors, suppliers, labor and equipment.
- Quality Control/Quality Assurance of all work performed by subs on-site.
- Coverage of special and permit-required inspections.
- Coordinate and schedule special and permit-required inspections.
- Communicate daily with Project Manager on project status and issues that may affect budget or timeline.
- Review project budgets and timelines with Project Manager weekly/monthly.
- Maintain/update construction schedules and 'look ahead' schedules.
- Coordinate with vendors for job-site material deliveries and requirements.
- Complete daily/weekly reports and maintain photo documentation of progress.
- Build/maintain a "Safety First" job-site culture and enforce job site clean up.
Qualifications
- REQUIRED: 5 years of proven experience in multi-family, hospitality and/or commercial construction.
- PREFERRED: Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Proficiency with computer technology and applications, including MS Office, MS Project and other construction related software. (Procore a plus).
- 10 hour OSHA certification is required, 30 hour OSHA certification (preferred).
- Strong written, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build and lead a team.
- Self-motivated with good time management skills.
- Possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including but not limited to: standing or walking for long periods of time, occasionally on uneven terrain, bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing stairs, and/or lifting heavy loads of up to 50 pounds.
