Construction Superintendent

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Preconstruction Planning & Buyout
• Assist Director of Operations, Procurement Manager, and Project Manager with development of work scopes, logistics plans, and buyout strategies.
• Review contract documents for constructability and identify issues to be resolved via per-bid RFI’s.
• Develop preliminary project schedule for use in bidding and planning, and participate in post-bid evaluations.
• Absorb approvals and permits from local authorities to start construction.
• Communicate project plan with stakeholders and affected parties such that there are no surprises at construction start.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION

• A college degree from an accredited university is required.
• Established sub-contractor relationships in Michigan and/or Arizona are preferred.
• Computer skills with MS Office, MS Project, Bluebeam, and Procore.
• Ability to read project drawings required.
• A minimum 4 years of field experience is required. Multi-family experience is preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• The position requires prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• You will also frequently walk, stand, and communicate with co-workers, guests, and the public.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• This position typically operates outdoors at a construction site, as well as indoors in an air-conditioned office, with a mixture of natural, incandescent and fluorescent light.
