About the role

APD Construction, LLC, a leading General Contractor, is seeking an experienced and detail‑oriented Construction Superintendent to provide on‑site coordination for all phases of renovations and new construction projects for commercial (private and government) and residential clients. The Superintendent will manage scheduling, coordinate inspections, quality control, and jobsite safety.

Responsibilities

  • Manage schedule and coordinate subcontractors, employees, and vendors to ensure timely completion.
  • Perform quality control on work and materials against purchase order specifications.
  • Communicate discrepancies in materials or deliveries to the project team.
  • Obtain and verify subcontractor scope of work in advance.
  • Ensure subcontractors fully execute and comply with contracted scope, safety, health, and environmental standards.
  • Identify and correct subcontractor deficiencies; issue notices of non‑compliance as needed.
  • Maintain daily jobsite activity logs and walk entire project daily to monitor progress and plan ahead.
  • Preside over weekly subcontractor coordination meetings.
  • Keep jobsite clean and organized; open and secure jobsite daily.
  • Coordinate required inspections with local jurisdictions and complete punch‑list tasks.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to direct and resolve problems among subcontractors and vendors.
  • Skill in identifying deficient work and providing corrective direction.
  • Proficiency communicating via telephone, text, written logs, email, and digital camera.
  • Ability to read blueprints and lift up to 100 lbs.
  • Physical endurance to traverse entire jobsite, including stairs and elevated structures.
  • Customer service orientation; confidentiality; conflict resolution.
  • Adaptability to frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality; covers responsibilities when absent.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and travel to assigned jobsites.
  • Required to wear company‑provided safety vest and, where required, a company‑provided helmet.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of verifiable, relevant construction experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of trades and computer literacy.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, architectural and engineering drawings, and procedure manuals.
  • Fluent English speaking, writing, and presentation skills for groups of customers, vendors, or employees.
  • OSHA certification preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
