About the role

The Construction Superintendent leads the transition of the North Bullfrog Project from detailed engineering through construction, commissioning, and handover to operations. This role ensures engineering deliverables are complete, coordinated, and constructible, and that construction activities are effectively planned, resourced, and executed in alignment with project objectives. The Superintendent also supports the NEPA permitting process by ensuring accurate integration of engineering and construction planning into DEIS/EIS documentation. This role is critical to construction readiness, contractor management, and successful delivery of safe, efficient, and compliant project execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engineering & Design Readiness
    • Oversee completion and quality of detailed engineering deliverables to ensure constructability and alignment with execution strategy.
    • Lead constructability reviews with EPCM partners and contractors.
    • Ensure integration of engineering design with permitting requirements and construction sequencing.
  • Construction Planning & Readiness
    • Develop and maintain the Construction Plan, including methods, sequencing, logistics, temporary works, and resourcing.
    • Cooky utilities, laydown areas, temporary infrastructure.
    • Lead construction readiness activities including mobilization planning and contractor onboarding.
    • Ensure safety and environmental requirements are embedded in all construction planning.
    • Support infrastructure planning, including regional considerations such as workforce housing.
  • Execution Strategy
    • Implement and maintain Construction Execution Plans aligned with overall Project Execution Plans (PEP).
    • Ensure plans reflect current project status, interface risks, and stakeholder requirements across engineering, procurement, and construction.
  • Permitting & Regulatory Integration
    • Support NEPA (DEIS/EIS) permitting processes in coordination with environmental teams.
    • Accurately reflect construction footprints, layouts, and access routes in regulatory filings.
    • Aid in agency responses and maintain alignment between engineering and permitting commitments.
  • Contractor & EPCM Management
    • Support development and review of EPCM construction packages and RFPs.
    • Lead contractor selection processes and oversee contractor performance through mobilization and execution.
    • Cooky across EPCM, contractors, and internal teams to resolve issues and maintain schedule alignment.
  • Cost, Schedule & Risk Management
    • Maintain earned-value tracking and align with budgets and timelines.
    • Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Compliance & Governance
    • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and permitting requirements across all construction activities.
    • Confirm all approvals are secured prior to execution of work scopes or major commitments.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership
    • Facilitate coordination across engineering, environmental, procurement, legal, finance, and operations teams.
    • Promote a collaborative, solution-focused approach to project delivery.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mining Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.
    • Strong knowledge of MSHA and Nevada construction regulations.
    • General understanding of mining operations in rural Nevada.
    • 10–12 years of construction experience in mining or heavy industrial projects.
    • Proven track record delivering projects (> $100M) on time and within budget.
    • Experience working with regulatory agencies and permitting processes.
    • Experience with construction contract negotiation and administration.
    • Ability to read and interpret engineering and construction drawings.
    • Knowledge of Nevada permitting requirements and construction regulations.
    • Familiarity with survey systems (e.g., Public Land Survey System).
    • Understanding of 43 CFR3809 preferred.
    • Experience managing project budgets, schedules, and risk.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong leadership aligned with AGA values and safety culture.
    • Ability to lead teams and contractors in a dynamic project environment.
    • Skilled in stakeholder engagement across technical, regulatory, and community groups.
    • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
    • High accountability, attention to detail, and results orientation.
    • Valid driver’s license required for site travel.
    • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
