Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities of Superintendent

  • Schedule subcontractors, consultants, and vendors in critical path to ensure timely completion.
  • Perform quality control duties and responsibilities regarding the work being performed.
  • Ensure that subcontractor is fully executing and complying with his contracted scope of work.
  • Ensure subcontractor(s) has corrected all deficiencies identified by the project team.
  • Identify conflicts in construction progress and communicate them to project team for resolution.
  • Lead weekly subcontractor meetings designed to coordinate work including sequencing and overall performance.
  • Lead weekly safety meetings with all onsite subcontractors.
  • Identify and notify management of subcontractor non-compliance with safety, health, and environmental quality standards.
  • Issue notices of non-compliance to subcontractors with regards to quality of work or scheduling.
  • Coordinate required inspections with local jurisdictions.
  • Schedule and facilitate inspections all project inspections.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and take corrective measures immediately when hazards are identified.
  • Maintain daily log of activities, manpower, inspections, and dumpsters on the jobsite using Procore.
  • Track inventory of supplies and materials to guard against loss and ensure that materials are ordered and delivered to meet the schedule.
  • Open job site at the beginning of the day and secure the job site at the end of the day.
  • Ensure that the job site is always kept in a clean and organized manner.
  • Perform timely and accurate project closeout procedures (punchlist).

Skills and Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • Preferred – Minimum of 5 years of experience in building construction of ground ups, multi-story ground ups, tilt wall, strip centers, storage facilities, office complex.
  • Minimum of two years of supervisory experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend construction plans and specifications.
  • Knowledge of commercial structural concrete procedures, practices, equipment, and testing procedure.
  • Ability to direct work as needed for employees and sub-contractors.
  • Possess a strong sense of personal responsibility and customer service.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Microsoft office skills.
  • Strong commitment to maintain a safe, secure, and clean work environment in compliance with OSHA.
  • Must have a positive attitude, be willing to enforce company policies and support a strong culture of teamwork and accountability.
