About the role
The Construction Specialist supports the construction team which is responsible for expanding services in areas that are not customers. The primary responsibilities include:
- Completing construction quality audits in the field 80% of the time and 20% in the office.
- Tracking the progress of assigned projects.
- Reviewing and approving contractor invoices.
- Communicating with other vendors for proper documentation into the tracking system (P2).
- Adhering to timelines set forth for the project.
Responsibilities
- Ensures the execution of overhead/underground construction duties such as: placing hard-line cables, frame and strand poles, transfer facilities between poles, placing cable in joint trench, and safe operation of construction vehicles and cable trailers.
- Investigate and monitor accurate record keeping concerning project start, milestone dates, production logs, material costs, and labor expenditures.
- Instructs work site safety standards; conducts work site visits to ensure compliance with safety standards and participates in regular safety meetings with the crew.
- Supports Specialists and leadership team with coordination of projects.
- Generates logs and reports on construction, projects, materials, and expenditures.
- Reviews, resolves, and follows-up on customer requests and complaints.
- Makes sure the performance of the construction crew to establish goals and objectives.
- Works nights and weekends, variable schedule(s), and overtime as necessary.
- Coordinates and supervises the daily activities of business support, technical, or production staff who perform tasks in the same function.
- Sets priorities for the team. Assigns tasks and checks work at regular intervals.
- Ensures all work performed on the project meets or exceeds Comcast, Local, State or Federal standards and regulations.
Requirements
- Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s), and overtime as necessary.
- Primary Responsibilities: Updating the JT or Polaris entry (job docs/maps) QC for path verification, Primary contractor interface day-to-day in the field and in turn acts as the NGAN liaison with the Regional network Technicians, New or upgraded power supply in place and operational (in continuity) before the cut date, Overall responsibility for the quality of the NGAN product: Next Generation Access Network (NGAN)
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of experience in construction or related field.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of construction industry standards and regulations.
Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with construction management software.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
