Construction Specialist

About the Role

Culver Academies is seeking a Construction Specialist to perform work related to construction, installation, and repair of buildings, grounds, and associated systems on our historic campus in Culver, Indiana. This role supports our mission by maintaining and enhancing the facilities that nurture the whole individual—mind, spirit, and body.

Responsibilities

• Examine and comprehend blueprints to determine required dimensional layouts for buildings and building systems.
• Perform tasks including measuring, cutting, forming, fastening, framing, welding, tuck-pointing, drywall and concrete finishing, painting, staining, wiring, soldering, and threading.
• Operate equipment such as telescoping forklifts, backhoes, trenchers, skid steers, augers, and man lifts.
• Work on utilities, excavation, masonry, framing, roofing, finishes, electrical, and HVAC systems.

Requirements

• High school diploma or HSE.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to frequently lift or move items weighing 50 to 100 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs.
• Demonstrated job skill proficiency and highly developed interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work productively in a team environment while balancing team and individual responsibilities.
• Openness to others’ views.
