About the role
The Construction Specialist administers the rehabilitation component of the organization’s housing rehabilitation programs, focusing on construction, rehabilitation, and coordination with third-party inspectors (e.g., DHCR, HUD).
Responsibilities
- Administer rehabilitation projects for housing programs.
- Oversee construction and rehabilitation activities.
- Coordinate with third-party inspectors (e.g., DHCR, HUD).
- Supervise contractors and ensure compliance with residential building systems (structural, electrical, plumbing, etc.).
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of experience, or an associate’s degree plus 4 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in housing construction, rehabilitation, or related fields.
- Basic knowledge of all phases of residential housing building systems (structural, electrical, plumbing, etc.).
- Ability to supervise contractors.
- Valid New York State Driver’s License, reliable transportation, and adequate insurance coverage.
Pay
$46,000 – $56,000 annually.
Schedule
Full-time, 35 hours per week.
