About the role
The Construction Specialist supports the construction team which is responsible for expanding services in areas that are not customers. The Construction Specialist will complete construction quality audits in the field 80% of the time, with 20% of the time spent on office PC work.
Responsibilities
- Completes construction quality audits in the field 80% of the time, 20% office PC work.
- Ensures the execution of overhead/underground construction duties such as: placing hard-line cables, frame and strand poles, transfer facilities between poles, placing cable in joint trench, and safe operation of construction vehicles and cable trailers.
- Investigate and monitor accurate record keeping concerning project start, milestone dates, production logs, material costs, and labor expenditures.
- Instructs work site safety standards; conducts work site visits to ensure compliance with safety standards and participates in regular safety meetings with the crew.
- Supports Specialists and leadership team with coordination of projects.
- Generates logs and reports on construction, projects, materials, and expenditures.
- Reviews, resolves, and follows-up on customer requests and complaints.
- Makes sure the performance of the construction crew to establish goals and objectives.
- Ensures all work performed on the project meets or exceeds Comcast, Local, State or Federal standards and regulations.
- Updates the JT or Polaris entry (job docs/maps) QC for path verification.
- Primary contractor interface day-to-day in the field and in turn acts as the NGAN liaison with the Regional network Technicians.
- New or upgraded power supply in place and operational (in continuity) before the cut date.
- Overall responsibility for the quality of the NGAN product: Next Generation Access Network (NGAN).
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of experience in construction or related field.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s), and overtime as necessary.
