Construction Site Safety Manager/Trainer (SSHO)
Join RQC, LLC, a leading Design-Build contractor specializing in military, federal, and large-scale commercial construction projects across the United States. We are seeking an experienced Site Safety Officer (SSHO) to support military construction projects in the Saint Mary's, Georgia area for ongoing work at Kings Bay Naval Base.
About the role
The SSHO serves as the onsite safety leader and is responsible for implementing and enforcing project safety programs in accordance with EM 385-1-1, OSHA standards, Accident Prevention Plans (APP), contract requirements, and the RQC Safety Management System. This role works closely with project teams, subcontractors, and field personnel to maintain a safe, compliant, and productive jobsite. This is a full-time, onsite position. Travel or relocation assistance may be considered for qualified candidates outside the area.
Responsibilities
- Implement and enforce project safety programs in accordance with EM 385-1-1, OSHA standards, Accident Prevention Plans (APP), and contract requirements
- Serve as the onsite safety leader for military construction projects
- Collaborate with project teams, subcontractors, and field personnel to maintain a safe and compliant jobsite
Requirements
- 5+ years of commercial construction experience
- 5+ years of construction safety experience at the jobsite level
- Experience with NAVFAC, USACE, DoD, or federal construction projects preferred
- Working knowledge of EM 385-1-1 and OSHA regulations
- Competent Person training and/or experience in fall protection, excavation/trenching, confined spaces, electrical safety, scaffolding, and PPE
- Documented safety training averaging 24 hours annually over the past 5 years
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Experience with RMS, QCS, or Viewpoint preferred
Qualifications
- OSHA 30-Hour certification (within the last 5 years)
- CPR Certification
- First Aid Certification

Pay
Salary: $90,000 - $125,000 annually (DOE)
Vehicle allowance included.
