About the Role
As a Security Officer at DK Security, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of our clients' properties. Your duties will vary depending on the specific contract, offering a diverse and challenging work environment.
- Customer Service: Be a positive reflection of the company by assisting client staff, visitors, and coworkers while maintaining a professional demeanor.
- Observe and Report: Stay alert for suspicious activities and incidents.
- Security Presence: Maintain a professional appearance while stationed in lobbies, reception areas, control centers, etc.
- Security Officer Duties: Conduct foot and/or vehicle patrols of assigned areas.
- Access Control: Ensure unauthorized persons do not enter restricted areas, verify IDs, and follow proper access procedures.
- Safety Patrol: Enforce policies and procedures to maintain a safe environment and report safety concerns.
- Emergency Response: Assist in emergencies, including administering CPR/First Aid/AED and communicating with emergency personnel.
- Security Liaison: Maintain professional communication with client staff and keep supervisors updated on all client communications.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Must pass a drug screening at hire and randomly thereafter (including for marijuana; federal compliance required).
- Must not have felony convictions or specific misdemeanors (e.g., dishonesty, fraud, assault, weapons, controlled substances, or two+ alcohol-related offenses).
- Must be able to sit, stand, and walk (including stairs) for 8–12 hours.
- Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs (70 lbs for armed positions).
- Must be CPR, First Aid, and AED certified (or willing to become certified) and capable of administering lifesaving care.
- Must have 20/20 vision (corrected) and ability to hear conversations in loud environments (in-person or via radio).
- Must be proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
- Must possess excellent customer service skills, personal integrity, and a positive attitude.
- Must complete required trainings on time and adhere to all client/company policies.
- Must have a Michigan Driver License.
Note: Current employees on disciplinary probation or previously removed from this contract are ineligible. Previous employees on probation at separation will not be considered.
Schedule
- Various days (Monday–Sunday), 2nd and 3rd shifts.
Pay
$17.60 per hour. This is an unarmed position; weapons are not permitted on premises (including personal vehicles).
