About the role

This role focuses on developing and expanding a defined sales territory within the construction market, targeting both new account acquisition and the growth of existing customer relationships through consultative selling, strategic planning, and execution of sales programs.

Sales Territory: PA, WV, ME, NC, VA, VT, RI, NJ, NH, MD, MA, NY, DE, DC, CT

Location/Travel: This is a home office-based position with approximately 75% travel required to various customer and job site locations, including day trips and some overnights.

Responsibilities

  • Build and grow a sales territory through proactive new account generation and expansion of existing customer accounts within the construction channel
  • Develop and implement sales programs and initiatives with existing customers to increase revenue, product adoption, and long-term partnerships
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities by developing tailored proposals, presentations, and solutions that address customer needs
  • Establish and maintain strong, strategic relationships with key decision-makers, influencers, and stakeholders at customer organizations
  • Attend and represent the company at industry trade shows, events, and networking opportunities to promote brand awareness and generate leads
  • Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and customer feedback to identify opportunities and challenges
  • Prepare and deliver sales presentations, product demonstrations, and proposals to prospective and existing customers
  • Accurately track sales activity, pipeline development, and forecasts
  • Provide regular reports to the regional office and Director of Construction Sales on sales performance, territory activity, and progress against goals
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams such as marketing, operations, and customer service to ensure customer satisfaction and successful execution

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of sales experience preferably in the construction industry (or closely related field)
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience in sales
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain strategic client relationships
  • Demonstrated success in opening and growing new customer accounts
  • Strong presentation, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage a sales territory independently and prioritize effectively
  • Proficiency in PC-based applications, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel
  • Strong organizational, time management, and follow-up skills
  • Safety and PPE product experience is a plus

Work Environment

  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 40 lbs. occasionally
  • Comfortable wearing required safety PPE while visiting construction sites
  • Ability to perform occasional kneeling, bending, and reaching
  • Capability to stand and walk for prolonged periods across various terrain types
  • Ability to work in varying indoor and outdoor temperatures and weather conditions
  • Prolonged periods of sitting during travel and office work

Pay

The salary range for this position is $63,750.00 - $86,250.00 plus uncapped commission. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training, geographic location, additional qualifications such as licensure or certifications, market factors, and responsibilities.
