Construction Safety Manager (Detroit, MI)

About the role

Superior is looking for a Construction Safety Manager to ensure that every team member on our jobsites is safe and secure. The Construction Safety Manager will maintain safe conditions for people and property, investigate and prevent accidents, analyze risks, and handle emergency response. This role is based on a jobsite in Detroit, Michigan.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate a team of safety professionals on our jobsite, finding ways to help each grow and succeed
• Collaborate across the jobsite with Field Operations and Project Operations team members, as well as the general contractor and other trade partners
• Conduct various jobsite trainings for team members, and ensure that all training records are logged and maintained
• Investigate and document all injuries, incidents, and near misses; identify the root cause(s); and implement corrective actions
• Evaluate and ensure proper procedures for crane lifts, excavations, electrical, and other high-risk activities
• Maintain daily reports describing activities completed, critical conversations, issues, and other relevant items

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience as a safety professional in the construction industry
• First Aid/CPR certification
• Completed the OSHA 500 or OSHA 510 Occupational Safety and Health Standards course for the Construction Industry
• Completed an OSHA 30-hour construction training course
• CHST certification or willingness/eligibility to sit for it

Qualifications

• Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) recognized by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (bonus)
• Experience in electrical construction (bonus)

Pay

$45 - $57 per hour (Eligible for overtime). We consider several factors when preparing a compensation package for successful candidates. Financial support for mid- and senior-level candidates who require relocation assistance is also available.
