Responsibilities
- Promote and strengthen O&G's safety culture across multiple construction projects throughout Connecticut
- Conduct jobsite safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments
- Partner with project teams to identify hazards and implement proactive corrective actions
- Lead incident investigations and root-cause analyses to drive continuous improvement
- Deliver safety training, coaching, and mentoring for field personnel and project leadership
- Monitor compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards
- Review and inspect equipment, tools, and work practices to ensure safe operations
- Support claims management, incident reporting, and safety documentation processes
- Analyze safety performance metrics and recommend improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with operations teams to integrate safety into project planning and execution
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent construction safety experience will be considered
- Minimum of five years of occupational safety experience
- Construction safety experience required, preferably within building, infrastructure, or heavy civil construction
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety best practices
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
- Highly organized, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple priorities
- Self-motivated problem solver with a collaborative, team-oriented approach
- Proficiency with safety management software, claims reporting systems, and mobile inspection platforms
- ASPCSP, CHST, or other relevant safety certifications preferred
Work Environment and Travel
- This position supports projects located throughout Connecticut
- Travel within the state is required, with occasional early morning, evening, or night work necessary to support project operations
