• Investigate every incident, accident, and near miss by walking the area, reading the documents, and talking to the people who were there.
• Your record is factual and complete.
• The injury log stays current with property damage, first aids, and recordables.

Crews Trained and Confident

• Run new hire orientation, refreshers, post-incident retraining, and operator training for the powered lifts on the job.
• Mentor foremen and crew leads until safe behavior is the crew habit.
• Completions are documented, certifications are tracked, and the crew trusts that the standard is there to protect them.

Trusted at the Site and With Regulators

• Hold the relationship with the general contractor, neighbors on the site, and anyone else sharing the ground.
• The daily report the GC counts on comes from you.
• Represent S&R during agency inspections and serve as the point of contact for regulators.
• Coach the field toward a culture where people speak up and look out for each other.

Safety Records Complete and Ready

• The paperwork behind the program is accurate, current, and where it belongs.
• Job hazard analyses and PPE assessments exist for the work being done.
• Certificates land in the right shared folders and the job folder stays updated.
• Hazardous and non-hazardous waste is handled, labeled, and stored correctly.
• Documentation is checked before it goes to the office, and the forecast is watched so adverse conditions are planned for.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of construction safety experience on active job sites.
• Steel erection or structural steel experience is preferred.
• Working knowledge of federal, state, and local construction safety rules, including fall protection, confined space, hot work, lockout tagout, and chemical management.
• Experience leading agency inspections on site and serving as the contractor point of contact during the visit.
• Proven ability to investigate incidents, write factual narrative reports, and drive corrections to closure.
• Experience delivering new hire orientation, operator training for forklifts, aerial lifts, and scissor lifts, and ongoing compliance training to field crews.
• Comfort with SharePoint for document management and solid skill with common office software for reports, logs, and presentations.
• Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to brief executive leadership and coach foremen with equal credibility.
• Able to work independently on a single project site while reporting to company safety leadership.
• Able to walk and work on uneven ground in extreme temperatures, lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, and climb ladders, stairs, scaffolds, and aerial lifts.
• Able to wear conventional fall protection equipment rated to a 300 pound universal weight restriction.
• Bilingual English and Spanish is a plus.
• A bachelor's degree in occupational safety, environmental health, or a related field is preferred.
