Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies and procedures tailored to construction site operations.
- Carry out regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards.
- Lead safety training sessions and toolbox talks to educate workers and supervisors on best practices and emergency response protocols.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and subcontractors to integrate safety considerations into all phases of construction projects.
- Maintain accurate records of safety activities, inspections, incidents, and training for reporting and continuous improvement purposes.
- Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and technologies to enhance the effectiveness of safety programs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction safety management or a similar role within the construction industry.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards applicable to construction sites.
- Proven ability to conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
- Strong communication skills to effectively train and influence diverse teams on safety practices.
