Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and continuously improve company-wide safety policies, procedures, and training programs
• Ensure full compliance with OSHA, state, and local regulations, with particular focus on excavation, trenching, heavy equipment, and utility work
• Conduct regular jobsite audits, hazard assessments, and safety inspections across active projects
• Lead incident investigations, root-cause analysis, and corrective action processes
• Deliver safety training and toolbox talks for field crews, supervisors, and new hires
• Partner with project teams and leadership to embed safety into daily operations and planning
• Maintain required safety documentation, reporting, and metrics
• Serve as the primary safety resource and culture champion for the organization

Requirements

• 7–10+ years of progressive safety experience in construction, preferably heavy civil, excavation, earthwork, or similar field environments
• Deep knowledge of OSHA standards, especially excavation/trenching, heavy equipment, and utility safety
• Proven ability to lead safety programs, train field teams, and drive cultural change
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with crews, supervisors, and leadership
• Preferred certifications: OSHA 30 or OSHA 500, CSP, CHST, or equivalent
• Willingness to spend meaningful time in the field across the region
• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, or related field preferred

Pay

$80,000 - $150,000 per year
