Construction Quality Control (CQC) Manager

About the role

The CQC System Manager will be the individual within the onsite work organization responsible for overall management of CQC and has the authority to act in all CQC matters for the Contractor. This CQC Manager is required to be on the site at all times during construction and is employed by the prime Contractor.

Responsibilities

• Be on site at all times during construction.
• Inspect the project before, during, and after construction to ensure compliance with all safety and quality specifications.
• Generate the project-specific Quality Control Plan and program requirements.
• Manage the overall CQC program and have the authority to act in all CQC matters.
• Handle submittals, hands-on review of work in place, administration and execution of all meetings and reporting, documentation, and close-out of the project.
• Interface effectively and efficiently with other onsite staff, customer representatives, and subcontractors.
• Maintain daily logs and required daily documentation; obtain, review, approve, and process submittals.
• Attend the CQC Plan Meeting, Coordination and Mutual Understanding Meeting, and progress meetings.
• Perform the three phases of control, submittal and mock-up review, and coordination.
• Ensure testing is performed.
• Prepare CQC certifications and documentation required in this Contract.
• Report directly to an officer of the Contractor.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• CQC Certification (Construction Quality Management for Contractors).
• Minimum of 10 years of construction experience or ten years in related work.
• Fluent English communication skills.
• OSHA 10 certification.
• Ability to pass a background check and obtain clearance into secure Federal facilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
• Ability to travel to the job site(s) as assigned.

Skills

• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
• Ability to read construction drawings and specifications.
• Ability to interpret documents such as:
  • Safety rules
  • Operating and Maintenance manuals
  • Procedure manuals
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Preferred Qualifications

• OSHA 30 certification.
• College graduate of engineering, architecture, or construction management program.

Pay

The salary for this position is $125,000.00 annually.
