Duties/Responsibilities
- Perform daily inspections and submit reports on construction projects at federal facilities for compliance with contract, design documents, plans and specifications in regard to workmanship, materials, installation and construction methods.
- Provide recommendations or necessary changes to government personnel regarding contract plans and specification relative to all phases of construction.
- Monitor contractor’s quality system and administer the three-phase inspection process.
- Provide surveillance at construction sites and assist owner in problem resolution.
- Deliver and review change orders; modifications; RFIs; and submittals.
- Monitor contractor’s schedule.
- Review and comment on the accuracy of the construction contractor’s requests for payment.
- Verify accuracy of as-built drawings.
- Review and ensure QA and safety plans are adhered to by the contractor.
- Utilize Resident Management System (RMS).
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen and must pass a Federal Background Review and drug screen.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED minimum; Construction related degree, preferred
- Minimum of 10 years of applicable experience on construction projects large complex multimillion dollar federal projects, Department of Defense preferred
- Experience with wide range of trades including, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, roofing, and general building construction
- Army Corp of Engineering (USACE), preferred
- Experience using RMS 3.0, preferred
- Experience with three-phase inspection process
- Knowledge of building and construction crafts since detailed inspections must be made to ensure the required level of workmanship
- Capable of reading contract drawings and specifications
- Professional presentation along with excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Valid driver’s license and be insurable
Physical Requirements
- Physically mobile in and around construction sites and field assignments
- Ability to carry required instruments and equipment
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Safe and successful performance of the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
- The worker is subject to variable climate and environmental conditions including but not limited to extreme cold and heat
