Construction Project Manager (Wastewater)

About the role

Our client is a mechanical contracting company in the metropolitan Detroit area specializing in Water and Wastewater Treatment Projects. With over 60 years of service to Southeast Michigan municipalities, the company maintains, updates, and provides new process piping and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Review vendor data and shop drawings for conformance to project plans and specifications
• Maintain logs (Shop Drawings, Procurement, RFIs, RFQs, Change Orders)
• Prepare and manage project schedules and budgets
• Supervise/manage employees, subcontractors, and vendors
• Coordinate the work
• Maintain relationships with owners, contractors, subcontractors, and vendors
• Timely recognition of project issues
• Review drawings and specifications with the project team and highlight any areas of concern

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a project manager within the water/wastewater industry
• Self-disciplined and motivated individual with strong verbal and written communication skills
• Solid organization and time management skills
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to follow through and meet deadlines
• Ability to read and understand plans, specifications, and schedules
• Ability to organize and prioritize multiple project tasks and respond to client requests
• Knowledge of construction and scheduling techniques
