Construction Project Manager - Kingsport TN

About the role

BAE Systems is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead facility modernization and expansion projects at the Holston Army Ammunition Plant. As a Project Manager, you will deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards, while leading a cross-functional team and communicating effectively with executive leadership and government customers.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional teams to deliver complex Capital Investment projects (under $100M), ensuring timely, budgeted, and quality delivery.
• Manage project finances to ensure budget adherence and achievement of financial targets.
• Provide regular updates to executive leadership and government customers on project status, progress, and issues.
• Oversee sub-contractors and suppliers to ensure project requirements and quality standards are met.
• Develop and manage project plans, schedules, and budgets to ensure successful project delivery.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate risks to ensure project success.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant project management experience in Defense, Construction, or Oil/Gas/Chemical industries.
• Effective verbal and written communication with upper management and customers.
• Proficiency in technical writing, such as proposal and statement of work development.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a related field.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) or DAWIA Level III Program Management certification.
• Experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) or similar tools.
• Experience with integrated master schedules using MS Project, Primavera, or similar tools.
• Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams.
