Key Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and manage all phases of restaurant and construction projects, including pre-construction, permitting, procurement, construction, and closeout.
- Create and maintain detailed project schedules, monitor progress, and proactively address delays or risks to keep projects on track.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams; conduct regular site meetings and inspections to ensure work aligns with specifications.
- Serve as the primary client contact, providing regular updates, managing expectations, and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage permitting, inspections, and regulatory compliance specific to restaurant and commercial construction, including health and safety standards.
- Review and control project documentation such as contracts, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and as-built drawings.
- Implement and enforce safety and quality control procedures on-site; coordinate with safety officers and ensure OSHA and local regulatory compliance.
- Resolve construction-related issues and conflicts quickly and effectively, making informed decisions and escalating when necessary.
- Conduct final walk-throughs, manage punch-lists, and ensure timely handover with complete documentation, warranties, and training for operations staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of project management experience in commercial construction, with a strong preference for candidates who have led restaurant build-outs or hospitality projects.
- Proven experience managing budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and permitting for commercial projects.
- Familiarity with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend) and scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and strong proficiency in MS Office.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, health department requirements for restaurants, and construction safety standards (OSHA).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to present to clients and senior leadership.
- PMP, CCM, or equivalent project management certification is a plus; OSHA 10/30 or similar safety certification preferred.
