Construction Project Manager, Geotechnical (35711)

Responsibilities

  • Manage geotechnical and foundation projects from initial planning through completion.
  • Projects entail micropiling, deep foundations, foundation drilling and large foundation systems supporting highway signage, electronic signage, retaining walls, and other civil and industrial structures.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, contractors, engineers, and other project stakeholders.
  • Cook up field crews, equipment, subcontractors, materials, schedules, and project resources.
  • Provide hands-on oversight of geotechnical and foundation installation activities.
  • Review project plans, specifications, site conditions, and geotechnical requirements.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, costs, change orders, and overall project performance.
  • Cook with engineering teams and customers to ensure projects meet design and performance requirements.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships and communicate project status, challenges, and solutions.
  • Travel to project sites as needed to provide field and customer support.

Qualifications

  • 5–10 years’ experience in geotechnical construction, foundation construction, heavy civil construction, or a closely related field.
  • A strong hands-on understanding of geotechnical work, foundations, deep foundations, or micropiling.
  • Experience managing construction or geotechnical projects from a field perspective.
  • Experience with large foundation systems, retaining walls, highway structures, signage foundations, or similar civil infrastructure is desirable.
  • The ability to read and understand engineering drawings, project specifications, site conditions, and construction requirements.
  • A comfort level working both in the field and with customers, engineers, contractors, and internal teams.
  • A willingness to be hands-on and actively involved in project execution.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Construction Engineering, or equivalent experience in and progressed through the construction or geotechnical field with developed strong project management capabilities in lieu of degree.
