About the role
As a Construction Project Manager / Assistant Project Manager, you will manage the construction of on-your-land homes within an assigned region, ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality while delivering homes on schedule and within budget.
Responsibilities
- Schedule Management: Oversee all construction activities for assigned homes, ensuring projects are completed following Simplicity by Hayden Homes systems, processes, and standards.
- Safety: Ensure construction of homes is conducted safely and all safety regulations are followed.
- Quality: Ensure each home is constructed within quality standards and take corrective action when needed.
- Budget: Manage all financial duties associated with construction projects, keeping projects on time and on budget. Identify and negotiate with trade partners to ensure the best price for value.
- Customer Communication/Management: Manage customer communication, build process education, customer responsibilities, and the overall home-building experience.
Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required; Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field preferred.
- Prior residential construction/trade experience preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in homebuilding, managing multiple projects at a time.
- Daily travel within local and regional areas; reliable vehicle, valid Driver’s License, and insurance required.
Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret building codes and construction documents (e.g., I-Joist and truss engineering/layouts, blueprints, lot gradings).
- Ability to motivate suppliers and trade partners to deliver quality work within tight timeframes while managing multiple priorities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with suppliers, trade partners, customers, and internal team members to discuss and document requirements/changes, address concerns, and provide timely project status.
- Ability to creatively solve problems and work under time constraints with minimal supervision.
