Construction Project Engineer

About the role

The Construction Project Engineer will play a crucial role in managing the Los Angeles World Airports ATMP Landside Improvements Project. HDR will oversee the design, pre-construction, and construction phases, ensuring that the project meets the needs of the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) campus.

Requirements

• Experience with Caltrans and/or City of Los Angeles projects
• Familiarity with Progressive Design-Build, Design-Build, and/or CMGC delivery methods
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification
• Experience with interpreting construction schedules
• Understanding of contracts and familiarity with codes and laws governing construction
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Teamwork and collaboration skills
• Computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office, Primavera, or related construction packages
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Technology, or equivalent
• Minimum of 5 years progressive construction experience on multidisciplinary projects
• Must have a fundamental understanding of contracts and familiarity with codes and laws governing construction
• Must possess the ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications and identify discrepancies or conflicts within documents
• Must be able to work in a team environment
• Must be computer literate, experience with Microsoft Office, Primavera, or related construction packages
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
