Key Responsibilities
- Aid in bid and proposal submissions, reviewing specifications, drawings, and scopes.
- Support buyout activities, vendor outreach, and track long-lead items.
- Own document control for request for information (RFI), submittals, as-built documents, logs, registers, schedules, change orders, purchase orders, quantity surveys, operation and maintenance (O&M) manuals, and warranties.
- Manage shop drawings and oversee RFI workflows, tracking responses and their impacts.
- Create and update schedules under project manager (PM)/project engineer (PE3) guidance, tracking changes affecting cost and time.
- Assist with forecasting and change management.
- Provide timely, professional responses to client inquiries with PM approval.
- Model customer service excellence and foster strong, repeat business relationships.
- Seek cross-training and job-sharing opportunities with senior PEs; train Level-1 PEs as needed.
- Obtain and maintain relevant construction certifications and trainings.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support project success.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; or three (3) or more years of direct commercial construction experience with a high school diploma.
- Foundational knowledge of construction means and methods for commercial/institutional renovations and site work.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Adobe, and internet research.
- Clear, professional communication skills (written and verbal).
- Reliable transportation; ability to work nights/weekends as project needs require.
- Ability to pass government background checks and drug tests (including random).
- Preferred: internship/co-op experience in general contractors (GC)/construction managers (CM) environments; proficiency with Procore; familiarity with Bluebeam, MS Project/Primavera P6; OSHA-30, CPR/First Aid, USACE CQM, and other construction-related certifications; eligibility to obtain/maintain public trust/HSPD-12 clearance when project-required.
