Role Summary Eastern Commercial is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Construction Project Accountant to support the financial and administrative success of our construction projects. This position plays a critical role in maintaining accurate project financial records, managing cost tracking and invoice processing, supporting project reporting, and ensuring documentation remains organized and compliant throughout the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate is analytical, dependable, and proactive, with experience in construction accounting and a strong commitment to accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Project Financial Management Process and review subcontractor invoices for accuracy and compliance with contracts, purchase orders, and project budgets.Code and reconcile project expenses, invoices, and credit card transactions within accounting systems.Assist with project cost tracking, budget monitoring, and budget-to-actual reporting.Monitor retention and holdback schedules and support release documentation.Identify discrepancies, investigate variances, and communicate issues proactively. Project Administration & Documentation Maintain accurate project information, records, and documentation in Procore.Manage project financial and administrative files using company document control standards.Track RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project correspondence to ensure timely processing.Generate project reports and support project teams with financial and operational information.Maintain subcontractor compliance records, including insurance certificates, licenses, and required documentation. Coordination & Support Serve as a liaison between Project Management, Accounting, Operations, and subcontractors.Support project startup activities, subcontractor onboarding, and project closeout processes.Respond to project-related information requests in a timely and professional manner.Assist with administrative tasks and process improvements that support overall project efficiency. Qualifications 3+ years of accounting, project accounting, or construction administration experience.Experience in construction, contracting, or project-based environments strongly preferred.Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.Experience with Procore, Acumatica, or similar construction/project accounting software preferred.Strong understanding of accounts payable, cost coding, job costing, and project financial tracking.OSHA 10-Hour Certification required or ability to obtain OSHA 30-Hour Certification within the first six months of employment.Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive financial information.
