Key Responsibilities
- Obtain and log documents from engineers, architects, contractors, and vendors to coordinate permit applications.
- Confirm and track all required approvals, acting as liaison between the company and agencies throughout the permitting process.
- Prepare and submit application status updates to agencies, partners, stakeholders, and boards.
- Review applications and supporting documents for accuracy and completeness.
- Care for paperwork and applications with outside consultants and contractors.
- Cook up paperwork with agencies to monitor permit status and ensure timely processing.
- Produce and maintain project schedules, coordinating with regulatory agencies from approval to final CO.
- Enter, maintain, and update permitting data daily.
- Print and prepare template packages for the engineering and construction team.
- Verify inspections are completed and conditions resolved to obtain Certificates of Occupancy.
- Maintain all company files related to site plan applications, product approvals, licenses, and permits.
- Communicate regularly with engineering and construction teams to troubleshoot and resolve field issues.
Qualifications
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
- Five or more years of construction permitting experience in heavy commercial, industrial, or manufacturing projects.
- Experience permitting with government agencies such as Space Florida, NASA, Brevard County, St. Johns River Water Management District, City of Cocoa, and City of Titusville.
- Strong organizational skills, time management, attention to detail, ability to prioritize and take initiative.
- Ability to work independently and as a team player in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Ability to read blueprints and plot plans (or willingness to learn).
- U.S. citizenship, permanent residency, or lawful admission status.
Preferred Skills
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience permitting with manufacturing/industrial facility construction and amenity permitting.
