Key Responsibilities
- Lead the company's day-to-day construction operations.
- Provide executive oversight of multiple commercial construction projects simultaneously.
- Manage a construction portfolio averaging approximately $6 million in monthly revenue.
- Direct and mentor Project Managers, Superintendents, and Operations personnel.
- Oversee project execution from preconstruction through project closeout.
- Manage subcontractor procurement, contract negotiations, scheduling, coordination, and performance.
- Oversee both self-performed work and subcontracted scopes across multiple projects.
- Ensure successful execution of complex bonded public construction projects while maintaining compliance with all contract requirements.
- Monitor budgets, schedules, forecasting, change orders, project controls, and overall profitability.
- Allocate resources effectively across multiple active projects.
- Identify operational risks and implement proactive solutions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, municipalities, and public agencies.
- Improve operational processes, reporting, scheduling, and project execution.
- Support estimating, preconstruction, and business development efforts as needed.
- Mentor and develop future construction leaders within the organization.
- Foster a culture centered on safety, accountability, quality, teamwork, and operational excellence.
Qualifications
- 15+ years of progressive commercial construction experience.
- 7+ years in a senior leadership role overseeing construction operations.
- Extensive experience managing vertical commercial construction projects.
- Demonstrated success delivering bonded public construction projects.
- Strong understanding of public procurement, contract administration, scheduling, and construction documentation.
- Significant experience managing subcontractors across multiple concurrent projects.
- Experience overseeing both self-performed work and subcontracted construction.
- Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, WIP reporting, cost control, and profitability analysis.
- Prioritized experience leading multiple Project Managers, Superintendents, and field teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred (equivalent experience will be considered).
- Preferred experience managing projects including: K-12 schools, higher education facilities, government buildings, municipal facilities, healthcare facilities, commercial office buildings, public safety facilities, design-build projects, CMAR and negotiated work.
