Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Build effective working relationships with contractors, project managers, and on-site personnel.
- Communicate inspection results and observations clearly to team members and stakeholders.
- Aid in training and mentoring entry-level staff on construction observation practices and protocols.
- Contribute to team discussions and provide insights on improving field operations.
- Maintain and organize project records, including inspection logs and daily diaries.
- Assist in resolving on-site technical issues by collaborating with engineers and project leads.
- Serve as a point of contact for contractors and project stakeholders during construction.
- Provide regular updates to clients on project status and any observed discrepancies.
- Address client concerns promptly and professionally, ensuring their satisfaction with the project’s progress.
- Support public engagement efforts by answering questions and providing clear project information.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- An associate's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- 1-3 years of construction experience.
- Knowledge of Iowa SUDAS Specifications.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Able to think critically and solve problems.
- Able to work with a team in a dynamic environment.
- Enthusiasm for collaboration and learning.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Basic knowledge of construction practices, materials, and safety standards.

- Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
