Construction Observer (CONABQ)

Role & Responsibilities

• Provide daily observation of construction activities to verify compliance with project plans and specifications.
• Prepare and maintain accurate daily field reports.
• Track material quantities and unit prices.
• Interpret plans and specifications and maintain a red-line set of construction drawings.
• Assist contractors with RFIs and review material submittals.
• Conduct field testing of construction materials.
• Retrieve and document construction material samples.
• Perform other tasks associated with construction observation and inspection as assigned.
• Travel required across Southern New Mexico.

What We Are Looking For

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Industry Experience: At least 3+ years of experience in roadway or utility infrastructure construction.
• Project and Construction Knowledge: Past experience in construction management or observation.
• Technical and Communication Skills: Written and oral communication skills, computer skills (Word and Excel).
• Personal Strengths: Determined, organized, detail oriented, and customer focused.
• Bonus Skills: Construction materials laboratory testing experience is a plus.
