This hybrid position blends field surveying, office-based drafting and data processing, project scheduling, and construction inspection support. The ideal candidate is versatile, eager to learn, and comfortable working both outdoors and in a technical office environment. As part of a multidisciplinary professional services team, you will support civil engineering, construction management, and project delivery efforts across a wide range of public and private sector projects.
Responsibilities
- Assist with project scheduling, task tracking, and resource coordination for survey and inspection assignments.
- Communicate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and clients to support project delivery.
- Prepare documentation for agency/municipal submissions and permitting packages.
- Perform field inspections under the direction of senior inspectors or engineers.
- Document construction activities, verify compliance with plans and specifications, and prepare daily reports.
- Assist with materials testing coordination and contractor communication as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1–5 years of experience in construction inspection or related civil engineering fieldwork.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to learn and be coached.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to work outdoors in varying field conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology or related field (ABET-accredited preferred).
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or Civil 3D drafting workflows.
- Experience with construction inspection, materials testing, or DOT/municipal projects.
