About the role
At Wilson and Company, we bring people together to practice their craft, to create value, and to accomplish great things. We are currently seeking a qualified Construction Inspector for our Albuquerque office.
Responsibilities
- Observe and inspect various construction projects from beginning to completion.
- To include, but not limited to, thorough documentation of daily progress, computing and tracking materials and quantities, material sampling and testing, maintaining timely, accurate records of project progress and general oversight.
- Read and interpret plans, details, specifications, and other contract documents.
- Recognize and report any deviations from the contract documents.
- Conduct/Oversee laboratory and field testing and reports on soils, aggregates, asphalt, and other materials.
- Maintain clear and effective written and oral communication and be able to answer inquiries as required.
- Attend and conduct meetings to gain insight of the project prior to construction, progress updates and other project related meetings.
- Measure and scale distances along with competent math skills to provide accurate documentation of work completed.
Requirements
- Ability to travel and stay out of town a week at a time as required providing on-site observation, inspection, and testing.
- Knowledge of typical construction practices, NMDOT specifications and ability to learn on the job through observation of others and asking questions.
- Ability to work independently and incorporate efficient time management practices.
- Ability to effectively communicate both written and orally and coordinate with all the project stakeholders.
- A disciplined individual who maintains accurate, timely and descriptive records of daily, weekly, and monthly progress.
- Experience working with DOTs and thoroughly understand their requirements and expectations for projects.
Preferred Skills

- 1+ years of construction experience preferred.

Pay
Hourly Earnings: $25.00 - $40.00 (Depending on Experience)
