Construction Materials Testing Technician
Job Responsibilities
- Perform concrete sampling and soil and asphalt density testing in accordance with project plans and specifications
- Sample soil and asphalt for transportation to our laboratory for sample testing and analysis
- Review construction documents, mix designs, density requirements to ensure compliance
- Document testing/sampling activities and prepare detailed daily field reports
- Identify deficiencies or non-compliant work and communicate findings to contractors, engineers, and project managers
- Conduct follow-up testing services to confirm corrective actions have been completed
- Maintain accurate records and ensure documentation meets regulatory requirements
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
- 2+ years' experience in the testing and inspection industry
- Obtained ACI 1 certification, nuke gauge certification
Technical Requirements
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple testing assignments
- Reasonable understanding of the construction and testing and inspection industries
Other Miscellaneous Qualities
- Ability to travel- Less than
- Ability to climb ladders, scaffolding, and access elevated work sites
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to work occasional evening or night shifts
- Ability to lift 40 pounds

We are seeking a UT Materials Technician 1 (MT1 to join our Salt Lake City, UT team! Come join us!
Candidate will provide QA/QC services for contractors, subcontractors, and owners of the project. The QA/QC services will primarily consist of soil density testing, concrete sampling, and asphalt density testing are completed in accordance with project plans and communications.
Work hours primarily occur between 7:00am to 5:00pm but may also occur for swing and night shifts.
