Construction Materials Testing Technician (ACI Concrete; ICC/NICET Soils Preferred)

Core Responsibilities

• Performs construction-related field tests as directed by the Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Manager and Senior Engineer.
• Travels to various construction sites primarily throughout the Midwest area with the potential for overnight and/or weekend as needed.
• Relays information to project manager and/or engineer, with limited in-field decision making.
• Transports equipment, test specimens and/or documents to field personnel, laboratory, clients or other offices, and provides physical assistance in equipment set-up.
• Enters daily field observation reports and summary reports electronically.
• Performs field quality control tests of in place concrete.
• Performs field density testing on soil, concrete, asphalt and other construction materials.
• Affords assistance to other technicians or professional staff on tasks and assists other departments as necessary.
• Follows Atlas' safety plans, programs, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
• 2+ years of Construction or CMT experience (a plus).
• Willingness to learn and work any shift that is needed.
• ICC or ACI certifications are a plus.
• OSHA 10 certification is a plus.
• Ability to travel.
• Options for full time travel, 50% travel, and local options in Midwest area.
