Responsibilities

  • Perform construction materials field testing under the direction of CMT leadership.
  • Daily commutable travels to various construction sites in the Indianapolis metro area, with occasional overnight and weekend work.
  • Relays information to project manager and/or engineer, with limited in-field decision making.
  • Transports equipment, test specimens, and documents to field personnel, laboratory, clients, or other offices.
  • Enters daily field observation reports and summary reports electronically.
  • Performs field quality control tests of concrete and masonry construction.
  • Performs field density testing on soil, concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials.
  • Assists other technicians or professional staff on tasks and supports other departments as necessary.
  • Follows Atlas' safety policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Physical strength, stamina, and dexterity to lift and move 50 lbs., stoop, bend, and stand throughout the course of a workday in varying weather conditions in varying terrain.
  • Motivated, career-oriented individual striving to learn and achieve within the construction industry.
  • Willingness to travel to and work in the Terre Haute area.
  • Works well independently.
  • Experience with/within a construction related field is a plus.
  • Preference to one or more of the following certifications: ICC, NICET, NETTCP, CWI, etc., but not required.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specs.
  • Ability to follow Atlas' QC plan and SOPs.

Skills

  • Ability to work toward and achieve industry required certifications.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to learn and operate specialty equipment.

Commensurate with experience.

Schedule
