About the role
The Construction Manager will lead and manage all aspects of utility construction for various types of telecom projects, overseeing site planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
Responsibilities
- Owns market-level relationships with municipalities, jurisdictions, and customers, ensuring alignment and long-term partnership success
- Accountable for end-to-end resolution of resident and community issues across all projects in the region
- Ensures consistent execution of community engagement and stakeholder communication strategy across all field teams
- Lead and manage all aspects of utility construction for various types of telecom projects
- Oversee site planning, scheduling, budgeting and resource allocation
- Supervise and coordinate onsite construction activities, ensure compliance with design specifications, building codes and safety regulations
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, identify potential issues or risks and implement corrective actions as needed
- Manage relationships with external contractors, vendors and suppliers, ensure alignment with project requirements and company standards
- Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation, including progress reports, construction drawings, permits and change orders
- Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, provide regular updates on project status, milestones and budgetary considerations
- Implement and enforce best practices for construction quality control, safety protocol and environmental compliance
- Work a flexible schedule with varied hours; some evenings and weekends as needed
Requirements
- 8-10 years of total relevant experience including at least 5 years of recent experience in a supervisory/leadership role
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering or relevant field of study; or equivalent work experience
- Knowledge and prior work experience in telecom construction industry - Coax Splicing, Fiber Splicing, Directional Drilling, map reading, etc.
- Knowledge and experience with aerial and underground construction
- OSHA 10 certification a plus
- Practical knowledge of Network operations and associated inventory for both RF and fiber networks
- Experience in estimating, bidding projects and change order preparation
- Problem-solving and like to troubleshoot problems as they arise in the field

- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to learn custom software
