Construction Manager-Substation

About the role

We're looking for a Construction Manager-Substation projects on behalf of our client. This is a 1-year contract assignment.(W-2). You will review project after completion and report successes, lessons learned, and opportunities for improvement. You will prioritize and enforce safety protocols on the job site, ensuring compliance with regulations and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Work safely near equipment energized at hazardous voltage levels
• Maintain clean and organized work area
• Communications with direct reports to enhance teamwork and report issues
• Proficient computer skills, including a strong grasp of general software like MS Office (Excel, Word, Project) and potentially specialized software for substation construction
• Turnover and support Commissioning efforts through energization
• Perform inspections, maintain QA/QC documents, and audits construction quality, ensuring adherence to standards and specifications
• Maintain open communication with team members, clients, and other stakeholders throughout the project
• Keep detailed records of construction activities, progress reports, and safety inspections
• Experience leading construction, including monitoring tasks, providing feedback, and resolving conflicts

Qualifications

• Vast knowledge of electrical schematics, mechanical, civil, and steel structural drawings
• Thorough understanding of safety regulations and practices, including the ability to identify and mitigate hazards
• Identify and resolve issues that may arise during construction, ensuring the project stays on track
• Familiar with concrete work, flat foundations, drill piers, breaker pads, GSU containment pits
• Work with EPC to resolve requests for information (RFI) and change orders
• Perform material procurement and material take offs

Pay

The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $58.00/hr. to $63.00/hr.
