Responsibilities
- Assume overall responsibility for safe, profitable, well-executed mission critical construction projects completed in accordance with contract requirements, schedule, quality standards, and client expectations.
- Review project proposals, contracts, drawings, specifications, scopes of work, schedules, budgets, and other project documents with leadership and the project team.
- Develop and manage project execution plans, including staffing, procurement, subcontracting, logistics, quality, safety, schedule, cost control, and closeout strategies.
- Determine the most cost-effective use of personnel, materials, equipment, vendors, and subcontractors while maintaining required quality and safety standards.
- Cook up and manage daily and long-range project activities with owners, developers, design teams, general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and company personnel.
- Promote, enforce, and model a safety-first culture consistent with company policies, client requirements, and mission critical site expectations.
- Manage assigned project staff, including superintendents, project engineers, coordinators, field leadership, administrative support, and subcontractor teams.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including as-built drawings, logs, reports, meeting minutes, and closeout records.
- Drive timely project completion through schedule management, constraint tracking, material expediting, submittal management, request for information coordination, and field issue resolution.
- Support commissioning, turnover, punch list completion, documentation, and owner acceptance for mission critical facilities.
- Lead and participate in regularly scheduled project staff meetings and promote clear communication across all project stakeholders.
- Manage the project closeout process, including final documentation, as-built information, warranties, lessons learned, and financial reconciliation.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience managing commercial, industrial, data center, mission critical, or other complex construction projects.
- Demonstrated success managing project safety, cost, schedule, quality, subcontractors, procurement, change management, and client relationships.
- Experience with mission critical, data center, electrical, mechanical, structural, civil, or building systems projects preferred.
- Ability to travel up to 75% based on project location and business needs.
- Working knowledge of project plans, specifications, contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, schedules, daily correspondence, drawings, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and other project-related documents.
- Ability to maintain accurate project documentation, including as-built drawings, logs, reports, meeting minutes, and closeout records.
- Estimating, preconstruction, procurement, or cost forecasting experience preferred.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize competing demands, resolve issues, and coordinate multiple teams to achieve project objectives.
- Self-motivated leader with the ability to build accountability, motivate teams, and drive results in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Strong verbal, written, and client-facing communication skills.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with construction management, scheduling, document control, or cost management software.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to walk the property and laydown yards.
- Ability to carry up to 50 pounds.
