Essential Functions

  • Team Leader: Experience successfully managing multiple tasks, projects, and technical staff.
  • Construction Administration: Leading/attending progress meetings, DRB Meetings, editing meeting minutes and submittal reviews, and preparing daily and weekly progress reports.
  • Specific Tasks: Oversee construction projects from construction start through construction completion, write letters and other correspondence to Contractor, owner and third parties, manage and assist with maintaining, updating, and reviewing tracking sheets/logs for risk registry, RFIs, RFQs, CCOs, submittals, working days, other issues, etc., ensure that relevant documents are provided and dealt with in a timely manner, manage and assist with maintaining an up-to-date deficiency log and ensure all deficiencies are dealt with in a timely manner, review contractor correspondence and submittals, including progress and look-ahead schedules provided by the contractor, ensure that the contractor is adhering to all contract requirements and enforce such requirements should they not be adhered to, track red-line drawings with contractor and ensure adequacy of information being captured, attend meetings with third parties and other public venues to represent project, coordinate and follow-up with all engineering disciplines to review shop drawings, RFIs, and other relevant construction documentation as required, ensure proper health and safety protocols are being adhered to on site in accordance with OSHA, and raise concerns of health and safety protocols not being adhered to including unsafe work practices, and ensure that the contractor is rectifying such issues, including submission of incident reports etc., ensure quality and compliance with regulatory bodies, report on and track status reports with owner, review pay applications and lead meetings and discussion/correspondence on all commercial items for the project, communicate technical and non-technical information in a concise, timely, and professional manner, participate in technical meetings and workshops with owners, contractors, and other stakeholders.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

Business Development

  • Demonstrated success developing relationships with clients and contributing to business growth.

Technical Writing

  • Proficiency in technical writing including letters and daily reports.

Company Representation

  • Increase the company’s visibility with internal and external professionals by participating in regional initiatives, conferences, committees, and community associations, including any identified industry activities.

Field Based Assignments

  • Weekdays, night, and weekend work.

Office Based Assignments

  • Standard weekday business hours work schedule.

Other Duties

  • As assigned.

Credential Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant area of study required; master’s degree a plus.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License is preferred but not required.
  • Certified Construction Manager (CCM) Certification and/or Nationally Certified Tunnel Inspector (NTIS) Certification is preferred.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience of Tunnel Construction Management work, required.
  • Must have proven work history as a Resident Engineer and/or as a Construction Manager with tunneling experience.
  • Excellent problem solving, decision making and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, contractors, and clients.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise independent judgment, interact with other staff, collaborate with other disciplines.

Requirements

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in relevant area of study.
  • A master’s degree is preferred.

Benefits

Compensation: $200,000+ based upon experience, certifications, and regional market standards.
