Construction Manager Junior Associate

About the role

The Construction Manager Junior Associate Position will train in many departments within Roofing and WTI while engaged in a degree-seeking program through RISE.

Responsibilities

• Learn and assist in project management duties including managing all projects (including GC and larger-scale P&R, TremCares, etc), participating in all proposals, specifications, price estimates, schedules, and sales efforts as they affect the aforementioned projects.
• Report database management and QC related activities, warranty adjustment, leak tracking, customer service, project administration, product training activities, etc.
• Install, maintain, and repair different types of roofing systems such as BUR, EPDM, Single-ply, coatings, and other forms of low-slope roofing systems.
• Operate tools of the trade (hand tools, power tools etc.) safely, follow OSHA regulations and other regulatory agencies relating to job site safety, demonstrate safe work practices.
• Work outside in a wide variety of weather conditions and to meet the physical demands of the position, including mobility needed to complete tasks.
• Climb and operate on ladders, able to handle at least 50 lbs.
• Communicate effectively with foremen, supervisors, and other WTI and Tremco employees.
• Contribute to proposals and specifications.
• Administer and track GC project activities.
• Manage conceptual phase (estimates & schedules), program planning phase, design phase, conduct pre-bid, construction phase, conduct pre-con, effective close-out, cost estimates and schedules.
• Use eBuilder for all project documentation per policy manual.
• Analyze for project cost / budget variance & profitability.
• Understand subcontractor agreements and corrective measures of notification to subcontractors per the executed agreement.
• Support the training and development within the organization.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• No prior professional experience or training required (currently earning): Degree in Construction Management, Construction building Engineering, Construction Technology, Project Management or Industrial.

Qualifications

• Must maintain a minimum of 2.0 GPA while pursuing a degree in Construction Management through the WTI partnership with The University of Akron.
• Participate in the Junior Associate curriculum which includes training in OLI QC, superintendent training, estimating, spec writing, CM admin support, PR/Inspection field services.

Pay

The hourly rate for applicants in this position generally ranges between $20 and $33.
